Hula Hooping (Ages 7 & up) - *NEW PROGRAM*
This ‘Zen’ dance style offers so much imagination and creativity with its physical challenges and artistry. The circular motion of the hoop is peaceful and beautiful. The repetition of spinning the hoop builds core strength and develops aerobic stamina. Students can work on their own or on-on-one with the
instructor to perfect various skills. This allows students to take responsibility for their own growth and to challenge themselves in every class. Hooping also improves hand-eye coordination, flexibility and balance, and enhanced movement in the spine and hips

Floor Gymnastics ( Ages 5 - 15)
Classes are grouped by age and/or ability. Students will learn basic floor gymnastics skills through individual and group instruction. Students learn how to improve flexibility, strength and balance. Each student will be pushed to his/her own limits and encouraged to master skills to his/her ability.Courses cover basics like rolls, splits, headstands, handstands, walkovers, handsprings, etc. Students also work on loco motor skills to improve coordination, agility, and strength. Low balance beams are used for conditioning, balance, and core strengthening. The gymnastics program includes Mat Mates, Mat Mini’s, Mat Mystics, Flips & Kicks, Tumble Tots, and Acro-jazz, Tumbleweeds, and Mat Magic.

Jump Rope (Ages 7 & up)
Though many only see jump rope as a simple fun activity, those familiar with its development of a sompetitive side, consider it a sport. Serious jum rope athletes train rigorously year-round. Jumping rope take immense strength, endurance, focus, and patience, and can be much more than a schoolyard game of chanting rhymes. Our jump rope class consists of a line drill warm up, single rope drills, long rope frills, and double-dutch. Students can work on their own or one-on-one with the instructor to perfect various skills. THis allows students to take responsibility for their own growth and to challenge themselves in every class.

Jazz ( Ages 7 -14 )
This class teaches basic to intermediate jazz steps, arm positions and terminology. The class incorporates opening stretches, across-the-floor loco motor segment, and jazz combinations and compositions. The Jazz program offers a variety of styles such as traditional jazz, lyrical, Broadway and funk. Students are placed by age and ability at the discretion of the teacher.

Pom/Jazz ( Ages 6 - 9)
This combo class is a great starting place for new dancers. The jazz aspect of the class focuses on alignment, technique and fluid style, while the pom aspect works on performance aspects such as strong arm motions, formation awareness and stage presence. The two styles compliment each other well as one builds a technical foundation while the other sharpens and strengthens. Students will learn a pom routines with pom poms take continue to progress in content and complexity.

Non-Competitive Aerobic Teams ( Ages 6 & Up )
Sportaerobics has been a signature program at BBS since 1986. Brenda has been a consultant for this program for other dance schools and gyms. Class is high energy, upbeat and fun. Students learn to perfect kicks, jumps, turn, pushups and combine these skills with face paced music and artistic presentation. Class is physical and challenging but progress gradually for students to adapt successfully week after week.

Sportaerobics
Combine the excitement of cheerleading, the fun of dancing, and the challenge of gymnastics and you have sportaerobics. Participants perform routines that showcase strength, flexibility, balance, and agility combined with artistic presentation that highlights choreography, music, and presentation. The program of competitive sportaerobics demands a strong commitment from the participant and his/her family. Team members are chosen from a tryout in the fall. Team members will receive many rewards and opportunities.

Tap ( Ages 5 & Up )
Classes will emphasize rhythm, style, style and sound. Students will study basic tap steps, combinationsand rhythms with an attention to development of proper tap technique and producing clear tap sounds. The students will develop coordination and rhythmic ability.

Hip Hop (Ages 11 & Up)
This class is high-energy and fun for both boys and girls who want to learn some Old School style influenced by some of today’s hottest video choreographers . Classes include conditioning and warm-up, simplified break down of each dance step, skill combinations and choreography. All moves and music are age appropriate and level specific. Students love learning these upbeat dance steps while moving to their favorite songs.

Ballet ( Ages 7 & Up )
Ballet is the foundation of dance. It teaches proper placement, alignment, balance, technique and control. All of these elements are extremely important in any form of dance. Students focus on improving strength, control, and body positioning in barre and center work, as well as learning all of the vocabulary and terminology of Ballet. A great class for any student age 7 and up. Instructor Annalea Catulle uses the Vagovoa Syllabus, this multi-level structure allows training to begin young and progress with age and experience.

TuTu Cute Ballet Pre-Ballet (Ages 4 - 6)
Classes are designed to prepare children for their first classical ballet class. Children will be introduced to arm, leg and feet positions, gentle stretches and appropriate body alignment, while exploring basic ballet technique and terminology. Creative expression will be emphasized at this level. Basic skills are repeated each week to develop a strong foundation for young dancers.

Kinder-Programs (Ages 4 - 6)
These classes were created for younger students who have participated in at least two Kindermoves sessions. Classes concentrate on tumbling, balance drills, self-expression, and pre-dance skills. As the child's ability increases, the class provides a fundamental base in which movement progression can successfully advance in technique and compexity. Kinder-Programs includes Kinderkicks and Flips & Kicks.

Kindermoves (Ages 2.9 - 5)
This is a creative movement class designed to appeal to preschoolers. Balls, scarves, hoops, obstacle courses, mat skills, and creative dances are just some of the props and activities that make up this action-packed class. The program is presented in six different series so your child can attend each course. Two six week sessions are offered in the fall and spring.

Move & Grove for Tykes and Tots (Mom and Me) (18 months - 3 yrs)
Creative movement is a way for all children, boys and girls, to explore their sense of self and the environment. Parents and Tots will have opportunities to move, play, and connect with each other and other families. Multi-sensory, developmentally targeted movement activities will promote social, emotional, and physical awareness skills. Class is focused around the children, however, parents will have special time to learn your child’s unique view of the world and share experiences with other parents. Use of movement games, music, rhythm, balls, scarves and other props will enhance the natural curiosity and creativity of your child.

Baton (Ages 7 & Up)
Students learn marching techniques, drill work, formations and basic twirls. A portion of each class will focus on individual skill development. Each student is pushed to his/her ability to master and progress to new twirling skills and combinations. Combinations and routines are taught to incorporate the class goals listed above.

PLACEMENT IS BASED ON AGE, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITY AND IS AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF THE STUDIO DIRECTOR.

Boot Camp Fitness
(Ages 14 & up)
Taught by Aissa Gank, a bonafide fitness champion earning national and international awards in sportaerobics. Her years as a competitive athlete have taught her all about the extremes in fitness. She takes this experience and offers her own blend of workout to those looking for an extra challenge. Class features intervals of high intensity training to maximize your cardio and then challenges you with strength and core training. Alissa will push you to your limits. It's not about whether you can do every move in the workout it's about whether you give it your best effort. These workouts are great to break fitness plateaus. Instructor: Alissa Gank

Ballet (Ages 14 & up)

Jazz It Up (Ages 6 - 8)
This class offers our young dancers a chance to experience across the floor drills, center floor technique and at the end of class some fun choreography and combinations. Students will participate in exercises that will increase body awareness, coordination, strength and flexibility. Showmanship will be inspired with a variety of theatrical games often used in musical theatre classes. Instructor: Brenda Brosnihan

Sportaerobics (Ages 8 – 13)
Improve your strength, flexibility and balance with lots of effective drills. You will learn lots of skill progressions you can practice resulting in steady improvement and mastery of various sportaerobic skills. Award winning coach and athlete Alissa Gank will inspire you to do your best!

Hula Hoop & Jump Ropes (Ages 7 & up)

This is one action packed hour! Participants will hula-hoop for 30 minutes, spinning and working on all kinds off the body tricks as well as waist, hips and chest hooping. We have hoops but if you have a favorite of your own your welcome to bring it. Our jump rope segment will focus on teaching the basics for single freestyle jumping as well as long rope and Double Dutch.

Dance Camp (Ages 5-12)

A week long camp will offer students a chance to sample different genres like ballet, tap, jazz, broadway, and lyrical. With a low stress environment, an awesome blend of technique and fun and superb organization; our dance camp may be one of th ehighlights of summer vacation. At the end of the week family and friends will be amazed at how much the dancers accomplished in such a short time. Details on attire and other aspects of the camp will be given after registrations are received.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES- back to top
A birthday party at Brenda’s Body Shop is a unique, easy and memorable way to celebrate your child’s
special day! Each party is one and a half hours in length, with the first fifty minutes loaded with fun
and exciting dances, obstacle courses and games. the last 40 minutes are yours to enjoy
refreshments, open presents and celebrate with family and friends.

Helium balloon bouquet for the birthday child
Party Room with black lights, star ball, stage lights and a stereo sound system
Organized games, obstacle courses, party dances all led by our high-energy staff

You provide...
Decorations, cake and drinks are the responsibility of the birthdays child’s parents or party
sponsors. Decorations and crafts are available with our options package.

Options — Choose or suggest a theme

Glamour Party
What’s more fun than dress-up? Guests will visit our storybook costume room and choose from
an array of costumes, gowns, dresses and tiaras.

Beach Party
All the fun of the beach, from music to the games, the craft and decor, it’s a fun shine
good time!

Reserving a Party
A $50 non-refundable deposit is due upon making the party reservation. This deposit is
credited toward the total due. Each party is permitted to have two adults to act as chaperones
or sponsors (at no charge).

Guests include all persons in attendance. Younger siblings who plan to participate in the gym
time will be counted as a guest. If a sibling does not participate and is supervised completely by
the parent, there will be no guest charge.
