YOGA

Spring Session: April 15-May 22 (6 weeks/$40) $15 Walk In Instructor: Sheri Kosh

Sweet and Slow Hatha Flow, Monday 8:30-9:45 AM Sweet and Slow Hatha Flow is a combination of accessible poses, fluid movement and breath. You will move through a series of poses that gently engage and open all the major muscle groups. Spinal integrity and muscle balance is a key area of emphasis in this class. An active class (includes some sun salutations) suitable for all levels with modifications and advanced pose options. If you are new to yoga, please l let Sheri know and come in for an orientation before class. Don’t forget to print out the Health Waiver (above) and bring it to your first class.

Yoga for Wellness, Monday, 10:00-11:00 AM Yoga for Wellness we incorporate breathing exercises, gentle yoga and yin yoga, restorative yoga, and other techniques to stretch and relax the mind and body. This stretchy class is designed for the beginner or student coming back from or managing stress, injury, or illness. No experience is necessary just a desire to increase flexibility and be good to yourself! Please confer with your doctor if you are wondering if this class is for you. Don’t forget to print out the Health Waiver (above) and bring it to your first class.

Yin Yoga, Wednesday, 5:45-7:00 PM Yin Yoga is a slow paced style of yoga where asanas are held for extended periods of time, typically two to five minutes per pose. Props (blocks, blankets, straps, bolsters, etc) may be used for added comfort. Yin yoga applies moderate stress to the connective tissues, the tendons, fascia, and ligaments with the aim of increasing circulation to the joints and improving flexibility. This class is excellent for active people and those who enjoy a quiet, calming class. NO experience necessary. Don’t forget to print out the Health Waiver (above) and bring it to your first class.

POUND

Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and Pilates-inspired movements. Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out.  Designed for all fitness levels, POUND® provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up and rockin’ out! The workout is easily modifiable, and the alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeals to men and women of all ages and abilities. Instructor: Kenzi Smith

COUNTRY & POP LINE DANCING

To Be Announced

Anyone can learn to line Dance. Brenda will warm you up with basic steps developing muscle memory. This gradual introduction of moves helps you easily learn to retain the dances. No need for Yoga pants in this class, wear your jeans and favorite smooth soled shoes and get ready to cha, cha, pivot and glide to some of your favorite country pop tunes.

 

DEEP STRETCH

This class will have a short warm up session, and over an hour of deep stretches focused on opening up chronic muscle restrictions. Many chronic muscle and connective tissue restrictions are responsible for causing joint pressure and pain, aching muscles, and radiating pain in extremities. This stretching portion will help increase long term flexibility in muscles and connective tissue. This will reduce the likelihood of injury in sports, as well as help you to gain more power, endurance, and range of motion.

 

BAR-TAP

Spark your inner dancer with our bar-tap class.  This one hour is dedicated to encouraging you to let loose and feel the freedom that comes through dancing.  We spend 30 minutes at the ballet barre warming up, tightening, toning and stretching our entire body.  Ballet promotes long lean muscles and great for functional fitness.  The second half of class get ready to sweat, laugh and make some noise.  Tap dancing is a great cardio workout with its high energy and nonstop  nature.  Tap dancing develops rhythm, coordination and builds strength and stamina.  The music enhances every dance we do from pop, country, alternative, rock, showtunes and more...  Classes are offered once per week in 6-8- week sessions.
