One dance you'll never forget and why

Always remember us this way, it is the first senior dance that we have performed. It was a beautiful lyrical routine choreographed by Keele. Through that routine and class, I had made more friends and started to come out of my shell. It is also my mom's favorite dance that I have performed.

A teacher or coach you'd like to thank

I would like to thank Brenda, Ainsley, Keele, Lexi, and Alissa for being the best mentors and teaching me how to work with others to perform a routine.

A teammate or friend who made your time special

Candace and Carly have created some of my favorite memories.

Something dance taught you beyond the steps

Dance taught me that I can do whatever I truly put my mind to. Also, that family doesn’t have to be blood-related.

One way dance helped you grow

Dance has helped me grow confidence and social skills. You have to put yourself out there in order to be a part of a dance team. This has helped me become sure of myself and understand what I can and cannot do.

Advice for younger dancers

Don’t compare yourself to other dancers; you are your own person, and it takes time to learn different skills. Don’t put yourself down whenever everyone retains skills and information at different speeds. Something dance taught you beyond the steps

What's next after graduation

I will be going to Allegany College of Maryland to obtain my RN license, then i will transfer to Frostburg State to go into their Nurse Practitioning program.

How dance will start part of your life

Dance has given me confidence in myself; this has helped and will continue to help me throughout my life, both at work and at home.

Please recognize anyone you would like to thank for your dance experiences.

I want to recognize my friends, teachers, and most importantly, my mom. She has played an important role in my dance career. She has supported me and has always been my biggest fan.
